Kick start your skills in Screen Direction in this intensive two-day workshop. With drama, the directors' priorities are always story and performance. Whether you are experienced or just beginning,  you will always have to work on the intersection of script and performance, and every job is different. 

Danny Mulheron’s career as actor/writer/director is laced with every kind of comedy from drug-addicted puppets he created with Peter Jackson to old school teachers (Seven periods with Mr Gormsby) he has also been known to keep a straight face. Mulheron has directed award-winning television dramas, (Under The Vines, Runaway Millionaires, One Lane bridge, Why Does Love, Hillary, Rage),  Documentaries (The third Richard), smash hit theatre productions  (The Motor Camp, The Sex Fiend) and original screen development with Nua Finau of Red White and Brass. THE COURSE INCLUDES:

Learn a process that may give you some direction in how to approach getting your job done without getting stressed or overwhelmed. 

Learn a rhythm of directing that will help you find your own way of negotiating your way through any given scene. 

Using challenging scripted scenes where you will direct each other, we will explore how to approach a script, how to cast and rehearse, and then ways in which to shoot it.  

It is always an exploration or an investigation no matter what stage you are, this weekend will give you the tools that will be useful in finding your own way of directing.    

WHEN: Saturday 24 June & Sunday 25 June @ 10am – 4pm.
